Amanda Bynes Says She Was Serious, But On Drugs When She Tweeted Drake To “Murder My Vagina”
Amanda Bynes is back.
After a long hiatus from the entertainment industry, several arrests and multiple stints in rehabs and psych wards, Bynes is ready to return to the big screen and resume her acting career.
In her first interview in four years, the 31-year-old former child star sat down with Diana Madison to discuss her current state, her plans for the future and to clarify the infamous “murder my vagina” tweet she sent to Drake.
“I actually wasn’t being insincere,” Bynes said of the 2013 tweet to the Drake. “I was, like, saying “Murder my vagina.’ I was serious, but I was also on drugs. So that was my way of saying, like, ‘Let’s do it, man!’ But I was, like, on drugs and trying to be hilarious.”
Bynes revealed that she’s now three years sober, but at the time, the tweet was just another way of saying “f*ck me, Drake.” Now, that the former child star is on the straight and narrow, she’s enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in hopes to create a clothing line in the future. She’s also ready to get back in front of the camera, as she says she misses acting.
“I do miss acting and I have something surprising to tell you: I’m going to start acting again,” she told Madison. “I want to do TV. Maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show where I’m the star of it.”
It’s been seven years since Bynes has appeared in a film or on TV.
